Our Story

An independent destination hotel situated steps away from Richmond's royal park, we’ve been serving hill top magic for all of our guests for nearly 300 years. Now, we’re always on the lookout for enthusiastic and talented individuals to join our hotel and restaurant team to deliver unforgettable customer service and create exceptional experiences for the modern-day traveller. Apprenticeships Academy

We know that we will only ever be as good as our team, so we’re always on the look-out for talented new individuals to become part of our family. Our Apprenticeship Academy offers a fantastic opportunity to ignite your future in hospitality whilst working within an independent and progressive business that puts people at the heart of its values. We are keen to develop and inspire passionate and ambitious individuals who are committed to starting a career in hospitality.

Our Chef Apprentice programme provides our chefs of the future with the opportunity to learn about cookery, products, methods, and techniques. We also encourage learning away from the kitchen with a selection of masterclasses that expose you to some our key suppliers who are all experts within their fields.

Chefs at The Richmond Hill Hotel can undertake the Commis Chef or Chef de Partie apprentice standards whilst in full time employment. This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and knowledge, benefit from a wealth of learning and development and work alongside a team within an exciting kitchen environment.

The true foundation for those that wish to make a career in hospitality. Covering a wide selection of the different departments that make up our operation, including housekeeping, front office and food and beverage; this apprenticeship programme will provide you with the support and guidance to really make an impact on our guests and your career.

Our apprenticeship programmes are there to support you through every step of your career at the Richmond Hill hotel. With a focus on people, process, performance, and perfection our team supervisor apprenticeship encourages you to continue to learn and provides you with methods and practices that you can use every day as a team leader or supervisor. We also include Hospitality Industry Training (HIT) Award Level 3 in Hospitality Supervisor as part of this programme.

Managers like to learn too, at least that is what we believe and that is why we encourage our managers to join our apprenticeship programmes. Designed to support our managers with the key skills and knowledge to enhance their development within a senior position. We also include Hospitality Industry Training (HIT) Award Level 4 in Leadership & Management as part of this programme.

Launch your career

Start your career with a work placement at our hotel and push the boundaries of our industry – go where nobody else has gone and do things nobody else has done. As an intern you get unique opportunities to learn about the hospitality industry, collaborate on exciting projects and work alongside our management team. We offer a number of work placements across the business for hospitality students.
